Moishe Mindset –
Community Builders

THE MOISHE MINDSET was developed in 2017 to provide clarity on how we pursue our Mission, Vision, and Values.

FOR COMMUNITY BUILDERS:

Be the Difference: Take initiative, own your leadership, enliven the Jewish world, and remember that we are leaders and community builders committed to driving change and innovation.

Connect & Listen: Embrace and encourage a variety of voices, backgrounds and perspectives. Commit to clear and open communication as the key to cultivating community.

Embrace the Unknown: Be flexible. Accept that there are forces outside of our control and do your best to adapt quickly and effectively to the continuously changing nature of our community of Jewish young adults.

Invest Wisely: Our environment is made possible by the generosity and passion of donors. Be mindful of their investment and intentional in your spending decisions.

Own It!: Speak from the “I”, and not on behalf of others. Take ownership of your actions and behavior. Hold yourself and others accountable for following through on commitments, managing expectations, tracking goals and outcomes, and respecting each other’s time.

Value People: Let the spirit of hospitality permeate every part of the Moishe House universe. Commit to creating and maintaining an environment in which all individuals are treated with dignity and respected for what they bring to our community. Assume good intent, and challenge ideas, not people.

Work Well, Live Well, and Have Fun!: Find joy and meaning in what you do, take care of yourself and others, provide a welcoming and positive Jewish home environment, and most importantly have a good time!
