Spotlight on MHWOW Host Esther Gopin
When Esther Gopin isn’t busy writing engaging stories and copywriting for clients, she’s helping to bring Judaism to life and forging connections with her Jewish peers around the world. Esther – a Moishe House Without Walls (MHWOW) host – is a digital nomad who currently calls Tel Aviv home. She loves to travel and considers herself a global citizen. She first learned about Moishe House from a friend who invited her to attend a retreat. It was such a rewarding experience that Esther applied to become a MHWOW host. Twice a month, she arranges Shabbat dinners, classes, and Jewish events that celebrate her heritage.
“I didn’t realize what I was signing myself up for. Almost five years later, I’ve hosted over 100 events in multiple countries, participated in dozens of programs, co-led two Moishe House retreats, and recruited more people than I can count to become MHWOW hosts,” Esther said.
Esther is most proud that she has created a global community of Jewish young adults and feels empowered by being able to influence people’s lives as they learn new concepts and meet new people. “My time with Moishe House has been joyful! My fondest moment was co-hosting a Peer-Led Retreat for fifty inspired Jewish women with Jewish Girls Travel. The entire weekend was a dream,” she said.
Esther is giving back to Moishe House as part of the 2023 WE ARE campaign so that Moishe House can influence other young adults like her. “These past years have changed me. Moishe House has allowed me to impact others, show people the power of community, and share Judaism. They not only provided the funding for these events, but also empowered me to take the lead, and showed me that I can be a community builder,” she said.
If she could write a thank you card to Moishe House it would say, “Thank you for the beautiful moments, the memorable experiences, the abundance mindset, and the wonderful people we [have] met along the way.”
