Lifecyle ($75 USD)
Moishe House acknowledges the importance of interweaving strong Jewish content into programming. To this end, we invest in and encourages the incorporation of Jewish rituals through this funding, which make Jewish practices and milestones in your life more accessible and relevant to you and your community.
Shabbat Enhancement ($75 USD)
As a Moishe House or Pod, your home is a place for vibrant Jewish community-building, offering you the opportunity to create meaningful Jewish experiences for yourselves and your peers. Through this funding, we encourage you to create a diverse array of Jewish experiences that feel approachable, relevant, and appealing. Moishe House is committed to bringing Judaism to life in ways that resonate with its participants and are welcoming to those who haven’t yet connected with Jewish offerings, and this funding aims to do that centered around enhancing Shabbat programs.
Tikkun Olam (Education - $50 USD; Direct Service - $75 USD)
This funding is designed to help bolster your Tikkun Olam programming and facilitate pathways for long term engagement on a topic your community is passionate about.
Moishe House/Pod Accessibility Grant
Moishe House’s mission is to “provide every Jewish young adult with access and resources to Jewish community.” In order to fulfill that mission, Moishe House has launched the Accessibility Grant for 2022. These funds are intended to cover expenses for accommodations to Moishe Houses, Moishe Pods, and their programming so that participants of varying abilities are able to attend and participate. North American residents (United States and Canada) may request up to $500 USD per year, and Global residents (outside the United States/Canada) may request up to $750 USD per year. Residents may apply multiple times per year (up to $500 or $750 USD total per year).
Israel Exploration ($75 USD)
This funding is intended to further the creation of relationships between Jews all over the world and the people and land of Israel. Moishe House is an organization focused on inspiring Jewish young adults to proudly explore and express their Jewish identity, one vital component of this process is engaging with the land and people of Israel. We are therefore deeply committed to building positive relationships between Israel and the young adult population we serve. In a life stage marked by exploration and ongoing learning, we aim to cultivate environments and relationships that allow young adults to engage in respectful discussion and dialogue around Israel, honoring a diversity of viewpoints and life experiences, all the while supporting Israel’s right to exist and thrive as a secure democratic Jewish state.
Extraordinary Program Fund (EPF)
EPF is for programs with an intention to create EXTRAORDINARY experiences for your participants – meaning better, bigger or both! Past programs have included boat parties, silent discos, and more! Houses may apply for up to $750 a year with a $500 cap per program. Virtual programs will be considered on a case by case basis.
Quarterly Us Time
Your house also has $50 to use quarterly under your Quarterly Us Time budget. This is in addition to your monthly Us Time Budget! Now more than ever, you and your fellow roomies could use a little extra “us time” to hang out, relax, and reflect together.
Supplemental Jewish Educators Grant ($75 USD)
We have seen the impact that connecting with Rabbis and Jewish educators has had on Community Builder and Community Members, and we want to continue to support you in those connections. This funding is to bring in a Jewish educator to deepen your community's participation and engagement in Jewish rituals, learning, and sense of community, as well as a heightened sense of pride in your Jewish identities.
Kosher Food
Your Community Manager or Program Specialist will let you know if you are eligible for these funds. This funding is exclusively for purchasing kosher meat, kosher cheese, and other hekshered ingredients (not including alcohol).
Jewish Culture & Holidays ($75 USD)
This funding is designed to encourage and support vibrant programming that celebrates the richness of Jewish rituals and traditions. We want to help you foster your Jewish identity, connect to Jewish rituals in relatable and meaningful ways, and deepen your interest in your own Jewish heritage and culture.
Jewish Learning Scholarship ($180 USD)
This Scholarship enables Moishe House Residents, Hosts, and alumni (<3 years after their time as a Resident or Host has concluded) to partake in enriching Jewish learning experiences across the globe. These scholarships allow Moishe House Community Builders to engage in transformative Jewish learning and immersive programs offered by external organizations beyond Moishe House. Through this funding, we aim to ensure that a diverse group of individuals can access valuable opportunities that will deepen their understanding and connection to their Jewish heritage and culture.
Jewish Learning ($75 USD)
By fostering an inclusive and vibrant environment, we want to empower you to engage deeply with Jewish traditions, culture, and values, while nurturing your leadership potential. This funding is to help you create a space where Jewish learning is interesting and relevant, and we want to help you feel confident in creating that space. If you want some support, connect with you Jewish Educator/Jewish Life Specialist to co-think through what bringing your vision to life could look like!
Grassroots Interfaith Grant Application (up to $100 USD)
Moishe Houses and MHWOW hosts in Europe and the FSU are eligible to apply for the Grassroots Interfaith Grant. This grant opportunity offers up to $100 of funding, up to once a month, to be put towards a programme that is open to young adults from other faiths.
IPF x Moishe House Programming Grant (up to $100 USD)
*ONLY AVAILABLE FOR RESIDENTS IN: SF, NYC, DC, AND TORONTO* This initiative, in partnership with Israel Policy Forum (IPF), provides funding for Moishe House residents to host engaging, high-quality Israel programs for their communities. The grant is designed to support programs that dive deeply into topics such as The Israeli-Palestinian conflict, Greater geopolitical issues in the Middle East and what it means “To Be People Free in Our Land?” -- Hatikvah, the National Anthem of Israel. Please note that residents will be required to schedule a brief 15-minute call with IPF ATID staff in their city following the application.
Chai Mitzvah
The Chai Mitzvah partnership is focused on turning learning into action, building community, making Judaism relevant, and strengthening Jewish identity. This opportunity is for Residents to host 3-5 programs over the course of up to 6 months, using curriculum co-created by Chai Mitzvah and Moishe House educators on one of these topics: Mussar, Jewish Journeys, Rosh Chodesh, or Business Ethics
