The start of the New Year can mean something different for everyone. For some, the New Year is a chance to reset and create new goals for the year. For others, January 1st may just be any other day. Regardless of your New Year’s practices, it’s always a good time to establish your commitment to repairing the world. Below are some resources and program ideas covering a wide array of topics to support you and your community’s tikkun olam efforts throughout January and February:
- The Tikkun Olam Enhancement Opportunity is designed to support tikkun olam programming and facilitate pathways for long term engagement with a topic your community is passionate about. Houses, Pods, and MHWOW hosts can apply for up to $50 per program to be used on things like: speakers/educators, space rental, or other special supplies. Find the application and more information here.
- The Grassroots Interfaith Grant encourages interfaith programs, providing up to $100 to any House or Pod resident or MHWOW host living in Europe or the FSU. See this guide for more information and apply here at least 2 weeks before your planned program.
- The Sharsheret Partnership Grant, available only in February, supports programs that educate about breast and/or ovarian cancer. Apply here for an additional $50 to host a Pink or Teal Shabbat or related program.
